I am touched by the words of this hymn today. Nothing but the Blood - Robert Lowry pub.1876 1) What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus; What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus... To view the full post please click on this post's tiltle above.

False Religion versus the Gospel (Summary)
For many years I had been subtly deceived by false Christianity. God in His grace, however, allowed me to experience and see the heartache, depression and trauma caused by false religion. As a result, I started realising that something was drastically wrong with the "Chritianity" that I had. I started seeking God and His truth … Continue reading False Religion versus the Gospel (Summary)
The Heartbreak of Rejected Love
There is most probably nothing that causes as much heartache and emotional pain as loving someone with all your heart, who totally ignores and refuses your love. In the old testament we read about the prophet Hosea. God wanted him to feel some of the pain that God feels as a result of people rejecting … Continue reading The Heartbreak of Rejected Love
Hymns that touch my heart
These are some of the hymns that touch my heart. Some of them have been an encouragement to me during very difficult times. He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater - Annie Johnson Flint (1866-1932) 1) He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater, He sendeth more strength when the labors increase, To added affliction He addeth His mercy, To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace... Peter versus Judas
Peter and Judas are two of the Lord Jesus' disciples who stand out at the time of the Lord Jesus' crucifixion (Mark 14). Both are included in the twelve disciples chosen by Jesus. Both sin against our Lord. Peter denies Jesus. Judas betrays Jesus. Peter obtains mercy and ends up dying for our Lord. Judas on the other hand does not obtain mercy and ends up committing suicide. What are the differences between these two disciples that their ends are so different? To view the full post please click on this post's tiltle above.

Why does God allow so much Suffering – Part 1
If God is a God of love, why is there so much suffering in this world? This question is asked so often. I have been meditating on this for several years. What follows is my understanding of it. God is love. Love desires people to bestow one's love upon. God created people in order to live in a loving relationship with them... To view the full post please click on this post's tiltle above.
The tragedy of self-righteousness
Luke 7:39 Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, "If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, for she is a sinner." To me this is one of the saddest verses in the Bible. Here the saviour had come to visit Simon the Pharisee. This was the same Savior who had visited Zacchaeus and Matthew, the tax collectors, at their homes. (Remember how Zacchaeus had stood up and confessed his sin, after which the Lord Jesus said: “Today salvation has come to this house”.) To view the full post please click on this post's tiltle above.
Legalism and Lawlessness
Legalism and lawlessness two opposing yet equally great evils
May God save us from both of these.
Legalism is where one lives by laws (often man made and often tedious) which one forces on oneself and others...
